Week 10: Asynchronous E - Learning Course Assignment

Hello everyone! For this week I am going to share with you regarding my last assignment for this subject. For our last assignment, we were told to create and design an asynchronous E - learning course using Google Applications in a group of four. So what is Asynchronous learning? Asynchronous learning refers to a variety form of digital and online learning where students learn by following instructions. For example, pre - recorded video and game based learning task that students complete on their own - that is not delivered by their teacher in person or in real time.
My group mates are Hanis, Shahirah and Aina. My group decided to use Grammar as our main topic. Our target learners would be 11 year old which are Standard 5 students. We divided our task accordingly. Hanis and Shahirah work on Interrogative Pronouns meanwhile Aina and I work on Singular and Plural nouns.

Here is our analysis phase sheet that was approved by our lecturer, Madam Azidatun.

For each of the sub topic, we had to came up with a video that explains the correct usage of grammar. The video must be simple and easy for the target students to understand. I did the video on the Singular and Plural Nouns. It was so much fun because I really enjoy using Canva during the entire process regardless of the lagging. I created a simple video and use my own voice to incorporate in the video. It takes me about two days to complete the video. For this assignment, we had also created a quiz for Interrogative Pronouns using Google Quiz and a game based learning task using an online game application called Kahoot! for Singular & Plural Nouns.

Here is the final result of my learning video.

The Interrogative Pronouns Quiz consist of 10 questions. For Singular and Plural Nouns, we made a quiz using an online learning game called Kahoot!. The game also consist of 10 questions.

By doing this assignment, I realize that online learning and games are really good in order to educate students on certain topic. In order hand, it also can help students to develop and enhance their technology skills. I really enjoy while completing this assignment. I hope that children will enjoy the video that I had created and they are able to understand more regarding this topic.

That is all for now. Take care everyone!

Week 9: Life during Pandemic Period

COVID-19 definitely change our life. This pandemic had spread all over the world. The Malaysian government had started MCO which is Movement Control Order on 18th March up until now. It has been two months now. It feels weird not being in collage with my friends. But for now, it is best for us to stay at home in order to brake the chain. The number of cases that affected Malaysian are still high. It may take a good one or two years to came out with a vaccine.

Since MCO happen, I have been staying at home with my family in Terengganu. It feels good to be home for the first couple of weeks. Then things started to get boring because you cannot go out to see your friends or just chilling out at your favorite cafe. Panic buying happened during the earlier stage. Many things had happened since MCO. I tried out the famous and viral dalgona coffee and trying out new recipes. The major project that I did during MCO and still going is re-doing my room. I saw many people did their bedroom transformation while staying at home during this pandemic. So I decided to makeover my room as well. But during Ramadan, the makeover was a little bit slow. I start out with painting my bedroom walls. It took a good two weeks to finish painting all the walls. It was so satisfying. Now I am still working on the decor of my room. I also ordered some new furniture and still waiting for it to arrive. Here are some photos that I took when I paint my bedroom walls.

I also finished all my assignments during MCO. But hey, it is kinda of challenging because it is not the same when you are at home. The chance of you to get lazy are incredibly high. So it needs extra effort to finish all the assignment. Most of my assignments during this MCO is video based because it is more convenient and make sense.

Raya during MCO is another whole new experience. No more salam raya, no more open houses, no more visiting our long lost friends. It is definitely a new kind of raya. A more simple raya I could say. Minimalist style. Usually I spent my Raya in Kuala Terengganu and Kelantan, but this year I could not see my grandparents in Kelantan. Video call saves the day. It is fun to see our grandparents are suddenly advanced in technology all thanks to COVID-19. So here is a picture of everyone’s favourite food during raya.

This pandemic had taught me so much. Now that this pandemic is happening, we tend to look back all the good times that we spent with family and friends. We might take it for granted. Now here we are wishing to experience it all over again. Anything can happen within a blink of an eye. I learnt to appreciate more of everything that I had now. Many people did not get the chance to stay at home with their family but I can and for that I am so grateful. Please stay at home and go out only when you need to. Wash your hands regularly and stay safe. Together, we can fight this virus. See you soon. Take care, bye!
